Why Switch To Metro Ethernet Service?

There's really only one good reason not to switch to a metro ethernet service: You live in a rural area where you can't get ethernet set up. If that's your situation, then go ahead and look into satellite internet. Otherwise, ethernet is really the only way to go for high speed internet in this day and age, and here's why...

It's Reliable

It tends to be more reliable than just about any other internet option in this day and age. If satellite is your only option where you live, that's unfortunate, because satellite internet is just about the least consistent service available. It comes with massive spikes of lag, making streaming and online gaming impossible, and sometimes it simply stops working for minutes on end. Cable is generally reliable, but since you're sharing the cable with your television... Dialup, on the other hand, tends to be more reliable, but with some significant downtime... But who wants to use dialup nowadays?

It's Fast

If you want consistency and speed, if you're an online gamer or you love your internet shows and movies streaming directly to your computer, if you download a lot of music, ethernet is really what you want. With dialup, you may as well set every website to "text only" or "basic html". With satellite, it's fast when it's up, but when it's down... It's down. With cable, you do tend to get high speed internet, but without the steady consistency of ethernet.

It's Perfect for Wireless

Ethernet can bring information and data into your home faster than the typical wired router can get it into your computer. If you want the fastest service available, combine wifi with ethernet and see what happens. The result will be lightning fast internet that may just get you stuck with a speeding ticket.

It's Very Easy to Set Up

When you deal with cable, you have to worry about learning how cable routers and modems work and so on. When you deal with satellite, well, it wasn't until recently that you didn't need an FCC license to broadcast internet over a dish. With ethernet, if you can plug in dialup, you can plug this in, too. It's a surprisingly simple process that essentially amounts to "plug and play".

If you're still on dialup... It's really about time you made the switch. If you have this option available to you, metro will provide you with faster internet than, well, just about anything else. It's the twenty first century, and if you want to make the most of your internet, of your wireless devices, your laptop, if you really want to enjoy online gaming instead of getting shot in the head once a minute thanks to crazy amounts of lag, then ethernet is really the way for you to go.

In other words, if you haven't made the switch yet, it's about time. When jumping off of dialup (which is, honestly, a dying format), you can choose between cable, satellite, or ethernet, and ethernet is probably just about your best bet.
