The PCI Security Standards Council Will Help With Your PCI Compliance
If you are trying to get your business website PCI compliant, there are several resources out there that can help. The PCI Security Standards Council, is the syndicate behind the PCI Data Security Standards, otherwise known as PCI DSS. Made up of the five major credit card companies, the council and their web site offers a lot of great information and resources.
The PCI Security Standards consist of two basic steps. The first is to pass quarterly or daily vulnerability scans administered by an approved scanning vendor (ASV). The second is to complete a security self assessment questionnaire. The self assessment questionnaire asks specific questions about the security practices of your company, on your web site as well as in your office. The PCI Security Standards Council web site provides you access to several versions of the SAQ to accommodate individual situations.
The PCI Security Standards Council also provides education and training. Their two day training course helps businesses better understand the QSA and helps them to prepare for an on-site evaluation. In addition, the course also helps companies in learning to successfully complete PCI compliance and how to sustain them after the assessment has been completed.
So check out the PCI Security Standards Council for information on making sure that your business site is PCI compliant. They've got a great deal of great videos, resources and links to help you get the information you need.
